Meet the Team

Get to know the people who helped prepare this year's CE Conference

Directorate

The Directorate team is composed of two members - the General Director and the Creative Director. Both of the directors have been involved in the organization team for a couple of years which is why it is so exciting for them to lead the team in hosting this year’s Conference. One of them is managing more practical and the other more creative tasks and so they complement each other perfectly.

Adriana Svítková

Director General

Adriana Svítková

Director General

Adriana is a final-year BSc Politics and Philosophy student at LSE. In times of crisis, her feelings of belonging to the CE region are heightened: a) in her EU studies, she likes to highlight the important role of the V4, b) during Brexit, she found her shelter at the Czech Embassy in London, c) when she is homesick, she enjoys touring London's brutalist architecture. She likes to connect these visits especially with a cinema visit or piano performance in the Barbican. It is no surprise that her engagement with the CE conference started already in high school.

Debora Šepetková

Creative Director

Debora Šepetková

Creative Director

Debora is an MSc student of Global Media & Communications at LSE and Law at Charles University. With two full-time degrees, a part-time job as a social media manager, and the CE Conference to organize, you might think she has no free time. And you would be right. Yet somehow, she always manages to find time for Muay Thai trainings and spontaneous getaways.

Relations

The Relations team cultivates strategic partnerships with companies & sponsors of the conference. They ensure we have sufficient funds to deliver high-level events, venues, catering & accommodation for guests & participants.

Ján Hlinka

Head of Relations

Ján Hlinka

Head of Relations

Jan is a third-year BSc Finance student at the LSE. He recently discovered the Accounting study room, a perfect on-campus spot where you'll find him most of the time working to ensure that we got it covered (from the financial standpoint). Other than that, he will never say no to a heated political debate with a nice crisp lager.

Martin Matras

Martin Matras

Martin is a second-year Philosophy, Politics and Economics student at UCL. If you ever spot anyone trying to balance four bags of groceries on the handlebars of his bike, it’s probably him. Assuming the groceries reach his flat, he’ll cook a dinner for his friends during which he’ll supply an endless amount of “fun-facts” covering everything from the quirks of octopuses to the peculiarities of the Spanish Civil War.

Kristián Rigász

Kristián Rigász

Kristian is a 3rd year BSc Finance student at LSE. He is an avid windsurfer, used to competitively play tennis and contemplates a rap career if he does not land a job in investment banking.

Panels & Workshops

The Panels and Workshops team organise the heart of the conference: its main panels, roundtables, and workshops. They are responsible for the direction of the conference topics, as well as for liaising with all speakers. Apart from that, the team writes content on our website in the form of blog posts or organize a workshop series running in the months before the Conference.

Anna Romanovská

Head of Panels

Anna Romanovská

Head of Panels

A cosmopolitan hailing from the small village of Klínec, Anna is a 2nd year East European Studies MRes Student at UCL. Leaving her undying love for Maurice Merleau-Ponty and Jan Patočka in her undergraduate past, she now spends her time critiquing Western depictions of the CEE region. She refuses to acknowledge the existence of English ales, and will use any given moment to boast about the superiority of a good Pilsner straight from the tank.

Jana Součková

Head of Workshops

Jana Součková

Head of Workshops

Jana is a second-year Philosophy, Politics and Economics student at UCL, whom you can mostly find guarding THE best spot in the Main Library. In the unlikely event, that THIS spot is free, she is probably geeking out about the abundance of strings in the London Symphony Orchestra, or even better trying to get the autograph of the guest bagpiper.

Adam Ševčík

Adam Ševčík

Adam is a 1st year student at KCL reading European politics who can discuss economic crises and inflation even when he’s drunk. However, having played golf since six and being passionate about opera and classic literature should not render him that boring as it might appear at first.

Quido Haškovec

Quido Haškovec

Quido is a third-year Politics and Philosophy student at the LSE, hailing originally from Velké Popovice near Prague. His primary academic interest lies in the development of post-communist countries, particularly in the dialectical aspects of their democratization and subsequent democratic backsliding. His own research focuses mostly on the failings of democracy in the CEE region and how they can be addressed by reciprocal cooperation within the European Union. The CE Conference contextualizes these specific interests within international trends, giving the opportunity to engage with like-minded individuals and work on finding the right solutions.

Radoslav Čuha

Radoslav Čuha

Radoslav is a master's European and International Public Policy student at LSE, notoriously known as an espresso addict. When not entirely absorbed in theorizing about feasible worldwide political outcomes or complaining about the rather deteriorating state of people’s elementary decency, he might be as well rooting for his cherished boyhood heroes - Chelsea and Rafa Nadal.

Linda Vidová

Linda Vidová

Linda is currently studying MSc Genomic Medicine at Imperial College London. When she is not studying or complaining about people on the tube, she is probably reading a book, obsessing about her house plants or binge-watching docuseries on Netflix.

Adam Pátek

Adam Pátek

Adam is currently studying Political Economy at LSE which translates to his passion for analyzing general concepts and applying them to reality. His favorite phrase is that the most underpaid job is being a dog or philosopher. Thus, in the future, he will most likely continue in his finance career.

Outreach

The Outreach team is in charge of organising the ExperienCE competition, establishing connections with NGOs and an overall increase of our reach within the UK and the whole of Central Europe. We oversee the selection, integration and management of the international committee.

Jaroslav Šálek

Head of Outreach

Jaroslav Šálek

Head of Outreach

Jára is an MSc Business Analytics student at Imperial. When he is not thinking about every possible process that can be optimised, he is probably enjoying his life by swimming or running on the treadmill. To escape the stress of job applications and coursework, you will often find him watching Love Island and eating an absurd amount of sweets.

Adam Blahuta

Adam Blahuta

Adam is a law student at KCL and a keen supporter of Lewis Hamilton, especially since he has been knighted. He loves Ribena so much that he can go through one bottle in two days, but he is currently on a detox because it was getting financially unsustainable.

Laura Doanová

Laura Doanová

Laura is pursuing a degree in Politics at LSE. She likes to think she is diversifying the UOL Czech community not so much because of her East Asian heritage as for the Czech town she grew up in, which everyone struggles to locate on the map. At the same time, now that she has moved out of Central London, she likes to think of herself as a true Londoner. When she’s not stressing over her essay deadlines, she likes to go on long walks and reassure herself that she is, indeed, a Londoner.

Linda Jarkovská

Linda Jarkovská

Linda is a second year History and International Relations student at King’s College London. Her research focuses mainly on European history in the 20th century, with an emphasis on Czech-German relations. She will never have enough books on these subjects, although her bookshelf will soon collapse. In her spare time, she enjoys taking on too many things she can’t possibly finish on time, traveling, going to the theatre, and diving on coral reefs.

Olivie Holcová

Olivie Holcová

Olivie is a law student at LSE and is currently completing her “panic masters”. She spends most of her days trying to catch up with the absurd amount of reading she’s assigned, whilst also contemplating the purpose of life, stressing about unemployment, and wondering whether a career in human rights will pay the bills. Although she’s often stressed, flower markets and walks in London’s many parks are guaranteed to always make her day.

Event

The event team makes sure that everything runs smooth on the big day, however the preparation starts several months in advance already, with room booking and catering being the biggest problems to solve, both for the conference and the afterparty.

Petr Horký

Head of Event

Petr Horký

Head of Event

Petr is a first year student of BSc Mathematics, Statistics and Business at the London School of Economics. As he works for a Venture Capital fund investing across Europe with a focus on CE, the region is very close to his heart, which is why he took on the responsibility of organising the event itself. He is looking forward to discussing (not only) the topics of ecology and liberalism and meeting many like minded people at the conference. Always happy to talk to new people so don't hesitate to reach out :)

Laura Žilinčanová

Laura Žilinčanová

Laura is studying the MA Conflict Resolution in Divided Societies at King's College and she particularly enjoys rapping the course's whole name, as it is very long. Her mind is usually all over the place. She takes pictures of random people in the streets as she finds ordinary life very interesting. She also enjoys going to live music venues, especially with artists from conflicted countries (what about an Israeli band with an Iranian singer?). Joining the CE Conference team this year, she cannot wait to see bright people interacting with each other after such a long time.

Maxim Višňovský

Maxim Višňovský

Maxim is a first-year BA War Studies student at KCL. His dream is to become a diplomat at NATO, although he's not very diplomatic when talking about Czech politics. Apart from spending suspiciously much time on his studies, he likes to learn Japanese, play tennis or keep explaining why he couldn't go to the gym this time.

Rebeka Prívozníková

Rebeka Prívozníková

Rebeka is a 2nd year Psychological and Behavioural Science student at LSE. She spends most of her time walking places that are not within walking distance and persuading everyone that it is indeed a good idea. Other than that she can be found dreaming about concert or flight tickets and stressing out a bit too much about her neverending to-do list.

Operations

Operations take care of managing the website, setting up registration, preparing on-site technical devices, and building a backup online / hybrid alternative.

Jakub Lála

Head of Operations

Jakub Lála

Head of Operations

Jakub is a final year student at Imperial College London, currently exploring the American culture at MIT. When he is not stressing over the wide range
of career opportunities ahead, he is either consumed by reading about philosophy, history, science, tech, or pretty much anything else, or he is screaming his lungs out in his home studio, lying to himself that there is some actual potential in his music career, although there certainly is not (definitely check out his album though). As the Head of Operations, he hopes to give you the smoothest conference experience possible.

Anna Muchová

Anna Muchová

Anna is a second year Management student at LSE. When she is not stressing about spending more time on the seven extra-curriculars that she has instead of uni work, she is probably listening to songs or watching films your parents and grandparents grew up on, contemplating about the quality of arts declining.

Václav Pavlíček

Václav Pavlíček

Václav is a second-year Electronic and Information Engineering student at Imperial College London. He is passionate about space exploration and in particular about the usage of electronics in space projects. He participates in many space-related competitions and projects ranging from building rockets to designing a satellite. Apart from space, he loves running and biking around London.

Tobiáš Tarcala

Graphic Designer

Tobiáš Tarcala

Graphic Designer

Toby used to study architecture in Prague, but ultimately returned to what he knows and loves - logos, fonts and colour palettes. He is currently a freelancer collaborating with some ambitious startups and working for different design studios. Other than sketching, mouse-clicking and being an avid Arsenal fan, he enjoys fiery standup comedians and doesn't shy away from a bumping techno party. He wishes you a vibrant and visually stimulating experience!

Marketing

The Marketing team is in charge of expanding our audience in line with our goals, through many of the social media platforms that they chose to adopt - be it Facebook, Instagram, Twitter or even TikTok. The team closely cooperates with the Head Graphic Designer to deliver stimulating content. Apart from that, they also contact major media outlets in the region to bring the project the coverage it deserves.

Ema Růžičková

Ema Růžičková

Ema is a first-year European Politics student at KCL. She often finds shelter in appreciating Church architecture to escape the big city life, although she is not religious. Her love for history helps maintain a connection with her home city, Prague, as she has spent the last couple of years living in youthful Toronto (the second "t" is silent). One of her favourite discussions is comparing Canadian political culture with the Central European one.

Laura Bártková

Laura Bártková

Laura is a first year student studying Biochemistry at Kings College London. During her free time she plays volleyball and loves exploring the city with her friends. She also loves cooking different types of meals that she was taught in the various countries she grew up in. You will always see her with a cup of coffee in her hands and google maps opened on her phone trying to orientate herself through London’s huge city.

Tomáš Keblůšek

Tomáš Keblúšek

Tomas is a 3rd year MEng Civil Engineering student at Imperial College London. He cycles everywhere as it is the fastest way of getting around while at the same time one can observe the complex and fascinating built environment around us. You will find him at every Czech&Slovak event in London, discussing serious or flippant topics.

International Committee

The International Committee is composed of Polish and Hungarian nationals who ensure that the conference is relevant and applicable to the whole of Central Europe. Their contributions are distributed among all the organisational teams.
